The Gazelles kick off a hectic window with the signature of former youth international.
It was on Monday that Hassania Agadir wrapped up their first transfer move of the summer, according to Maghrib Foot’s sources. Karim Essikal (24) should have signed a three-year contract with the club, starting from next season, after agreeing personal terms.
The Belgian-Moroccan midfielder is coming from FC Eindhoven in the Dutch second tier, where he’s been a regular for two seasons. He has previously represented Morocco in youth level and was part of Abdellah Idrissi’s squad for the U17 World Cup in 2013, where he started against Panama.
Essikal is primarily a deep-lying playmaker who plays a number six in Eindhoven’s 4-2-3-1. He could be an ideal replacement in Agadir for Mehdi Oubila, who is a similar type of player and has been linked with a move abroad.
