Mouloudia Oujda have been initiating talks with Florent Ibenge about the vacant managerial position at the club, following the resignation of Aziz Karkache.
Despite a solid season in Botola after earning promotion, Aziz Karkache has decided to step down from his position after the current campaign. President of MCO, Mohamed Houar, has confirmed that ongoing talks with a potential replacement are underway, admitting that the club want Ibenge to lead the team, starting from next season. The two met in Paris a few weeks ago to discuss their philosophy and possible plans going forward.
Ibenge is currently managing both AS Vita Club and the DR Congo national team, which makes the case very complicated, when trying to negotiate a potential deal. No agreement has been made, but there’s no doubt that MCO have made the Congolese coach their number one priority.
“Ibenge was positive to our proposal, but he wants to finish the Africa Cup of Nations with DR Congo before making a decision. We will also have to talk with his club. Let’s see what happens,” President Houar told Maghrib Foot.
