No Premier League move for the Morocco international, as agent confirms offer.
With only a year left on his contract, there have been speculations surrounding the future of Aymen Barkok, who was in and out of the Eintracht Frankfurt team last season. We can now reveal that Premier League club Leicester were recently inquiring about the 23-year-old’s availability and even submitted an offer to Frankfurt. This was rejected however, as it did not meet the value set by his club.
One of Barkok’s representatives, Mourad Amami, admits that The Foxes were in for the player:
“I won’t talk about a fee, because negotiations have now stopped, but Leicester’s offer was not financially interesting. Aymen is currently under contract with Eintracht for one more year and is in no rush to leave the Bundesliga. We’ve never wanted to rush anything, as he’s very happy here.“
Amami highlighted that the most important for his client at the moment is to play week in and week out in hopes of keeping his place in the Moroccan national team ahead of the World Cup.
