BREAKING: Beaumelle turn to FIFA for claims of illegal breach of contract

The Frenchman reach out to the international football federation after having his contract terminated by the FRMF.

After months of sitting in Morocco with no work, on a huge salary, Patrice Beaumelle has now been released from his duties, according to our information. The 41-year-old, who served as Hervé Renard’s assistant and later head coach of the U23 national team, has been out of work since they were knocked out of Olympics qualification in September.

On a rumored, monthly salary of about €50,000 (550,000 Moroccan dirhams), it’s long been discussed what role Beaumelle now has, as neither national team head coach Vahid Halilhodzic, nor technical director Osian Roberts, seemingly want him in their staff. Fouzi Lekjaa and the FRMF have now decided to terminate his contract, but not without a fight.

Because Beaumelle claims that the termination is unilateral, considering he has yet to agree on a mutual separation or been asked to do another job inside the federation. The FRMF on the other hand, have already hired a bailiff to prove Beaumelle’s continued absence from the newly opened Mohammed VI training centre, where the Frenchman was supposedly asked to meet for work.

This is probably not the last we will hear from this case, but regardless of the final outcome, Beaumelle’s time at the Moroccan football federation has surely come to an end.
